Introducing Mission Assistant Reports in Keela

Mission Assistant Reports donor retention report with key takeaway and monthly giving chart.

Development and fundraising teams collect donor and giving data for a reason: to understand what’s working, communicate progress, and make informed decisions about where to focus next.

But getting from data to a useful fundraising report can become a project of its own. Teams may need to configure filters, export records, assemble spreadsheets, and recreate charts before they can answer a straightforward question or prepare an update for leadership.

We believe reporting should begin with what you want to understand—not with the mechanics of building the report.

That’s why we built Mission Assistant Reports, a new AI-powered reporting experience inside Keela.

Start with the question or report you need

Mission Assistant Reports provides a more direct way to work with supported donor and giving data in Keela.

You can ask a question in plain language, describe the report you want to create, or start with a built-in template. Mission Assistant Reports can provide a concise answer or generate a full report with summaries, charts, and tables.

For example, your team might ask:

  • How has giving changed over the last 12 months?
  • Who are our top donors by giving?
  • Which donors gave last year but haven’t given this year?
  • How does giving this fiscal year compare with the previous year?
  • What does our donor retention look like?

Instead of beginning with filters and fields, you begin with the fundraising outcome you need.

Why we built Mission Assistant Reports

Your fundraising data should provide a clear picture of progress—and communicate that picture to colleagues, leadership, and your board.

Mission Assistant Reports is designed to reduce the work between the question and the report.

It brings AI-powered reporting assistance into the Keela experience you already use. That means you can keep more of your reporting workflow in Keela while continuing to use your existing reports and dashboards.

Clear output for fundraising conversations

Mission Assistant Reports brings related findings together in an easy-to-review format that can include:

  • A written summary of the results
  • Charts that make patterns easier to see
  • Tables containing the supporting information
  • Relevant reporting periods and filters
  • PDF and CSV download options

After reviewing the report, you can download a formatted PDF for a board or leadership update. You can also download CSV data for validation or additional work outside Keela.

The goal isn’t to take people out of the reporting process. It’s to give them a head start.

Your team remains responsible for reviewing the data, confirming the scope, and deciding what the findings mean for your organization.

Built-in starting points for common questions

Mission Assistant Reports includes five templates that help you explore common fundraising questions:

  1. Last 12-Month Giving
  2. Fiscal Year-Over-Year Giving Comparison
  3. Top Donors by Giving
  4. Lapsed Donors (LYBUNT)
  5. Donor Retention

You can also ask your own questions or describe a different report based on supported data.

At launch, supported information includes contacts and donors; donations and gifts; giving by campaign, impact area, and source; lifetime and year-over-year giving; donor retention and lapsed donors; receipt details; memberships; volunteers; and households.

Built into Keela Reports

Mission Assistant Reports is built into Keela Reports rather than offered as a separate reporting product.

If you have Reports access, you’ll find the new Mission Assistant tab alongside your existing dashboards. Your current reports and dashboards remain available, and existing Reports permissions continue to govern who can access reporting information.

This helps your organization introduce a new AI-powered workflow without replacing the reporting tools your team already knows.

Available now in open beta

Mission Assistant Reports is available in beta to everyone with existing Reports access in Keela—no opt-in required.

During this beta phase, review AI-generated answers and reports before making decisions or sharing the output. Supported data and export limits apply, and capabilities may continue to evolve as we learn from customer feedback.
